Anyone know what the bass are biting on and where? I'm here at the lake for a week and would like to do a lot of bass fishing.

I am not sure what to say Justin.i just made a couple post and so did wrench about these systems. It was on a thread called looking for a guide. I think whatever you do do it in the shallower water above 15 ft. Unless we get a big drop then they might leave the shallows. But we are suppose to have rain. Get out in that also if you can. Maybe the same places you fished last time will be hotter this time i am pretty sure. More water up there and a lot if shad using the area. I might be up there sometime this week myself. Possibly tomorrow afternoon.

Ok thanks will do. I'm starting to figure out a pattern. Today I caught a few decent bass and one nice one out of the shade in the back of my dock. It is right near an 8 foot drop off so maybe when they aren't looking for shade the will be holding on that. I'll keep working on it

That pattern might change. So do not fall in love with it it. Certainly has up in the gravois arm in most areas. There seems to be a very short effective period. Then the rest is the pits. I msg all the time with wrench and he had the same experience yesterday. I do not fish for long periods anymore because I have a lot of arthritis in both shoulders. Myself I am using very large plastic worms lightly weighted. You can kind of dance them around a bit and sometimes it excites them and they grab it. I have been fishing fairly shallow for a couple weeks. Wrench is almost entirely a shallow water fisherman. I have a picture here of a bass I caught on a 11" plastic worm on the back in a shallow cove on the back corner of a dock. The water I was in was about 6 ft and he could not have been in more than 3 ft. I do not take pictures are carry a camera but this one I took to send to wrench because we had been talking about some of this shallow stuff. But really they are where you find them and whatever works fir you cannot be wrong.
