Kramr Posted September 11, 2013 Posted September 11, 2013 Hi, Wife and I will be there around October 5. We are focused mostly on walleyes. We don't want to burn up a lot of gas trying to get to a good spot. What part of the lake is best in early October for walleyes. Any info is much appreciated.
Kramr Posted September 12, 2013 Author Posted September 12, 2013 No one have any suggestions about this?
powerdive Posted September 12, 2013 Posted September 12, 2013 I've done well in the Tucker Hollow area that time of year, trolling cranks on the edges of the flats. If fishing is your only focus, that might be an option (note: there aren't many "amenities" such as restaurants and shopping close by).

We are there to see who can land the biggest and/or most fish. We generally bring our own food to keep the cost down. If we go shopping, it's to stock up on lures and such. LOL Any reasonably priced places to stay in the Tucker Hollow area?
Jeff Olson Posted September 13, 2013 Posted September 13, 2013 Kramr, like Powerdive said, trolling cranks. it has been pretty slow for me lately, hopefully it will pick up with the cooler weather coming. and a better report by the end of the month! there is a campground at tucker hollow and some cabins.
powerdive Posted September 13, 2013 Posted September 13, 2013 The cabins are actually a strip motel called Tucker Hollow Lodge. (870) 436-5569. If rooms are still available then, they're fairly humble, but reasonably priced, clean and well-kept. Good launch, but no courtesy dock. The marina will probably still be open.
Kramr Posted September 13, 2013 Author Posted September 13, 2013 Wife requires some kind of kitchen or at least a microwave and a full size refrigerator (place to keep the fish we catch). Anyone else have an area to recommend or are you keeping the best for yourself?
powerdive Posted September 13, 2013 Posted September 13, 2013 Kramr, those needs are covered at Tucker. Hopefully you'll get some other ideas also. Good luck!
Diamond City Fisher Posted September 13, 2013 Posted September 13, 2013 You might try Diamond City, AR. Several cabins and motels that are reasonable. Also gas stations and stores nearby. info on the this website...http://thelakeshoredistricts.com/Attraction_Map.html
Forsythian Posted September 14, 2013 Posted September 14, 2013 Does Tucker have their gas pumps working? Cenosillicaphobiac
