rcguy Posted September 29, 2013 Posted September 29, 2013 Eating at the lodge now then heading to try zone two. Caught a few but kinda slow. Crowds are light. Beautiful day!!!
NoLuck Posted September 29, 2013 Posted September 29, 2013 I got my picnic table sealed and now I gotta bug spray and weed killer spray. Nest weekend the shed gets painted. Someday I'll get to fish. LOL
John W Kelly Posted September 30, 2013 Posted September 30, 2013 Here are a few pics from the weekend. The first two are from Saturday after it started sprinkling a bit and people left. It rained a little harder from mid afternoon into the evening and I had the whole run from the gauge tower to the #1 wing dam to myself, which was fun for long drifts. The last two are from Sunday, which was a beautiful day with cool temps and not too crowded. I never left zone 1 either day. Fished the upper zone 1 Saturday and lower zone 1 on Sunday. Both days produced a good number of fish for me...mostly small with a couple of larger surprises thrown in.
rcguy Posted September 30, 2013 Posted September 30, 2013 I fished the same areas a lot so I probably saw you. I caught 6 sat doting the day and from 5 to 7 in the evening I caught 6 and missed a bunch in zone one during a hatch. Not sure what. Small tan Caddis I think. Anyway I threw a size 20 PED and it was great fun. Headed back at 7. Beautiful weather.
John W Kelly Posted October 1, 2013 Posted October 1, 2013 I'll probably be wearing my Winston hat and a chest pack...no vest. There was a gentleman fishing a little bit down stream from the rock dam in zone 1 that I thought may have been you (going off of your profile pic). I think he had a vest on though. Had a tan ball cap on, possibly a Winston logo, but I didn't get close enough to tell for sure. I said "Hi" to him just in case.
John W Kelly Posted October 1, 2013 Posted October 1, 2013 ... Small tan Caddis I think.I saw that too. Noticed it all through zone 1 Sunday afternoon.
rcguy Posted October 1, 2013 Posted October 1, 2013 All in all I'm ready to go back. Probably not unitl the first day of catch and release but I will be back. I think maybe we should plan a get together for lunch at the lodge at noon like we did a few years ago. It was nice to meet everyone and I still see several of them. What do you think????
John W Kelly Posted October 1, 2013 Posted October 1, 2013 Here's a pic of that tan fly. I caught one and put it in my fly box. It gradually turned darker, but it was a light cream color when it came off the water. Sorry it got a little mangled and missing it's head...
rcguy Posted October 1, 2013 Posted October 1, 2013 OK, what is it. Looks like a mayfly tail to me but what do I know?
NoLuck Posted October 1, 2013 Posted October 1, 2013 Just your typical olive dun mayfly Jerry. They are there fr time to time. Not a big hatch though normally.
