I've found over the decades that you can catch a decent amount of fish on dries, IF, you can move along the stream. It seems anything in 16-18 range somewhere in the Pale Dun to Adams look will catch some fish hatch or no hatch. I've also found that the Gnat and the olive EHC will generally work also, but maybe not as consistently as the others.

Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.

I caught a good share of my fish this past weekend on Gnat's. Cbak's did ok but not as good as usual. Wife did good on bedspread. Young son did good on cbak's and bs. Friday was pretty good Sat fair and Sun 9-11 poor. Still good to get down there. Lots of little fish though. Never fished for brookies but imagine size was about the small.

Saw a white ave with a flag in the back window but came by later and it was gone.

Well turns out we were in a white Toyota Ridgeline. I could not remember what my friend had. I have never gone fishing with him before.

By the way I did lots of fly changing Sunday. 2 on P and P midge, 2 on black, 2 on olive midge, 2 on dark Brown Roach mini jig, 1 on white.

i could not find anyhting consistent unitl up by the spring in the evening on the drys for a period of a hour and a half during a pretty good hatch.

That was worth the trip. The fish were of good size and I was using a 3 wt. so it was fun. I probably should have fished Sat in the rain.

A couple of guys at the bar Sat night said they were really hitting Sat in the rain. Oh well, enjoyed visiting with NoLuck and seeing his trailer anyway

and stayed warm and dry!!

I saw 1 guy Sunday below the island catching quite a few fish on an olive scud. Size 12 I think he said. He consistently caught fish on it while I picked up about half of what he was catching. Brown and olive midges worked best for me. I only fished for a total of about 5-6 hours all weekend.

Next weekend if its dry I'm painting the shed. Other than that I should be pretty well open to fish more. After working 50 hours its hard to get real motivated. Even more so when I have work to do around the camper. Plus crawling out from under the blankets when it's 55 degrees in the camper is pretty hard. Then it's just to turn on the furnace and right back in bed. LOL

I didn't even set foot in zone 2 last weekend either. That's usually where I start and move from there. I did fish Z2 just below the spillway for a couple of minutes and I headed up to seal my picnic table. I'm hoping to be down early Friday but it looks like a night time drive again unless things change on this job.

No luck if you have the room the oil heaters work great in RVs. You can leave them on low and keep the wall reasonably warm and then use the furnace for quick rises.

It was a big white new looking Honda Ridgeline, with Kansas plates. I saw it parked near the bathrooms on Sunday.

That was us. We fished for awhile below Holland dam. i saw someone with a big hat fishing with another guy form saint Louis.

He walked up beside me and caught a pretty nice fish and the guy in the big hat took a picture. Later the guy in the hat was on the bank and I turned around and said hi

and kind of nodded.

NoLuck, I guess I need to give scuds another chance. I keep reading about Tan, olive, Light Tan Scuds but never do well on them.

I could not get any color of midge to work consistently. I like your trailer BTW. Sweet setup. Oh I forget where you told me where you hide the key!!

:have-a-nice-day:

Heh BTW have you heard anything from JJtroutbum???

No I haven't heard from JJ in quite a while. He was hanging out on Ozark Chronicles some but that was the last I seem of him. The fish tank business must have got real busy.

Jerry I don't hide a key. LOL . The way I lose keys though that may be a good idea. Along with an extra truck key to as I walk around looking for them while they are on my finger under my rod. LOL

Wayne, I use a ceramic heater when I think ahead. This past weekend I did not. I then set the furnace to kick on at around 60 if it gets real cool. It worked real good in my pop up. So it should be even better in the travel trailer.

That was me. I thought that may have been you. I was too afraid to say "HEY! are you that guy on the forum?" :)...

Here's the pic. He caught it on a P & P.
