drew03cmc Posted October 5, 2013 Posted October 5, 2013 What do you use, if anything? I haven't ever used a trailer in creeks, and only rarely in still water. I throw Booyah's Pond Magic sb in white and chartreuse, along with the Booyah Blade 1/4oz in white and white/chartreuse. I think I have some 2" grubs in white as well as chartreuse, but for the larger baits I wonder if a 3" wouldn't be better. Thanks guys. Andy

podum Posted October 6, 2013 Posted October 6, 2013 Early spring = uncle josh split tail eel. All other times, matching plastic with curly tail or paddle tail. I wish I had more time more than I wish I had more money.
drew03cmc Posted October 6, 2013 Author Posted October 6, 2013 I will have to grab some 3" grubs then...I looked at my stash and it isn't as good as I thought. Spring crappie on lakes did me in. Jim Elam 1 Andy
Al Agnew Posted October 6, 2013 Posted October 6, 2013 On my homemade twin spin, I prefer the 3 inch Power Grubs in pearl on the white, chartreuse, or brown bucktail twin spin. On the black twin spin, I like a 4 inch black curly tail grub of some kind. I will occasionally use any brand of 4 inch curly tail grub in pearl if I want a bit larger profile on the light colored twin spins. I usually use the same grubs on regular spinnerbaits, though I usually use the War Eagle spinnerbaits that have some strands of silicone longer than the rest of them, and on these I often don't use a trailer. One more note...I don't thread the grub onto the hook. Instead, I nose hook it so that it hangs off the bend of the hook, and for whatever reason, the curly tail always points upward, never downward.
Old plug Posted October 6, 2013 Posted October 6, 2013 Do not use spinners very much but when I do it is almost always a baby brush hog
