I'll be down by Bennett Springs all next week for work and was thinking about doing some fishing. I've never been there before. Does anybody have any advice or tips on how to catch a few fish?

Midges are great. 18-22 size zebras. I also do well on cracklebacks near the dam.

I'm planning to bring both the fly rod and spinning rod. I'll stick with whatever ends up being more productive

Standard zebra midges and scuds under an indicator on the fly rod will work well. Wooly and a spinner or black and yellow marabou jigs on the spin outfit.

You can also visit Larry's, it's on the road leaving the park, or Weaver's, just east of the upper park entrance, and visit with them. They are shops that always have a finger on the pulse.

Good to know. I'll have to check those places out. Thanks!

My advice would be to drive another 76 miles and go to montauk.

Well, just got back from the trip and did pretty good fishing. There were plenty of people, but also plenty of places to fish. Are the crowds usually smaller during the catch and release season or are they about the same?
