lonkm Posted November 7, 2013 Posted November 7, 2013 Everybody put their boats away or getting ready for deer season? I havent seen any comments about this area for quite awhile. Haven't been fishing myself. Unkle Aruther and his brother Itis have moved in. Hope the Dr. will figure something out soon. Good luck to all.
Dutch Posted November 7, 2013 Posted November 7, 2013 You may have to wait till next spring unless some of the eyes guys post up.
RSBreth Posted November 8, 2013 Posted November 8, 2013 Nah - I've been down there a bunch - every couple of weeks - just not a lot going on with the high water. It will get better as it gets colder.
Members Luke918 Posted November 8, 2013 Members Posted November 8, 2013 Been out a couple times (once of river run & up to the dam) caught 4 lb 13 oz largemouth and three other smaller (14") bass on a rapala crankbait. Another trip out at the mouth of Beaver Creek and Cedar Creek produced lots of 13 to just under 15" largemouth and some crappie and blue gills that were willing to take a crankbait. Water temps were reading mid 50's. Being newer to the area, especially as far as fishing upper bull shoals, I am still trying to figure out the fishing techniques here. From my few trips out this fall I know the fish are there and I catch 'em but smaller bass mostly. I have little patience and fish faster - crankbaits & spinnerbaits mostly, so thinking if I slowed down when I find those spots with smaller bass, I might hook into bigger bass more consistently.
powerdive Posted November 8, 2013 Posted November 8, 2013 Luke, I caught my biggest bass ever on New Year's Day at K Dock, on a Storm Suspending Thunderstick worked extremely slowly. Of course, I was trying for walleyes........
Members Luke918 Posted November 10, 2013 Members Posted November 10, 2013 Powerdrive that's awesome, I caught my biggest walleye ever 27 1/2 inches mouth of Beaver while bass fishing this spring. I did catch a few walleye this morning fishing between River Run and Barkers Hole this morning all were short though 15-17".
Jeff Olson Posted November 10, 2013 Posted November 10, 2013 thanks for the post Luke, first walleye action I have heard of in a while. I have not been out since the end of September. been bird hunting. got he itch for walleye, but don't know if I will get out til spring? I usually chase the crappies in the winter. good luck all.
nxs Posted November 11, 2013 Posted November 11, 2013 We went down Sat. for awhile. Water temp was 53* when we got there and when we left. Was really surprised thought there would be several there. Caught a lot of short bass, couple of crappie, several big perch and finally caught one of those yeller perch everyone was talking about. Super nice day to be out, no wind to speak of not much if any water moving. No walleye this trip. When do they spawn PD? Ralph said it was chock full of bloody eggs. They have put up a stop sign in the middle of hwy 160 where F turns back towards Branson. It's adorned with those concrete islands they like so well.
Members Luke918 Posted November 11, 2013 Members Posted November 11, 2013 nxs what type of 'big' perch are you catching - white perch or yellow perch? And where were you catching them and on what? If you don't mind spilling the info. Thanks
Dutch Posted November 11, 2013 Posted November 11, 2013 nxs I've had those yellow perch squirt milt all over the place in late march while fishing for white bass.
