December Fishing Trip

I'm coming down next month to do some fishing and spend time in branson right before Christmas. Lookin at staying at Lilleys place. What's the most effective way to fish with a jig? What do you do? I see a lot of fishing with them on these fishing reports. Never used them always just fished with powerbait eggs. Looking at trying jig fishing. I would appreciate any input and how to on it. Thanks in advance
