Have you ever seen cattle in that little pasture? I don't think I ever have. I know one year he put up an electric fence along but well back of the creek on that side. It was there maybe a month before a flood took it out.

I would be more than willing to work with him on a viable solution to this problem. One that in a way he created. His land is surrounded by MDC land and it is a well known, highly trafficed creek. Its been like this for 40 years. I am sure that if he would buy the supplies, you, I, Ollie and some other would pitch in and erect a source of entry like there used to be. We could even maintain it for him. At his cost, our labor.

Well, I do know for sure he owns both pastures on the two sides of the creek. The fence on the side by the road was his major gripe. He can't or doesn't want to put up v-cut fence for access. Claims that the floods always take out the fence and it isn't cost effective for him to do that. He did however tell me he was working with Rick to put up a walk over ladder for that side. On the other side or upper side he took the red gate and closed it all the time I think. Same thing happened there, one of his calves got out due to someone not locking or closing it back up. I don't think anyone on here is the culprit, but like I said if you see someone doing something like this let them know!

The ladders would be great. I hope they figure it out.

If fishing was easy it would be called catching.

That last one was sure there for a lot of years.

Ladders are good until someone falls. Just seems like a lot of liability with those.

Cattle get out all the time. I was over that way Saturday and one was out on the road northeast of the mill on the road to hwy 60.

If a calf got out, it wasn't because of the little red gate. That was just his excuse. Kinda like Prater claiming floaters are shooting his cattle.

Whats the story on the RV parked there now? Looks like it will be permanent with the pole and meter.

The RV has been there for a while. I have only seen a vehicle there once though. I would rather just cross the creek below the new bridge, but it has gotten a little too deep over the last few years.

I waded by that spot for a few years before I even knew that fence had a walk through. LOL! But like you say, over the last few years it has consistantly gotten deeper at that spot.

I would think that a gate like the one on the south side could be erected on the north too????

The RV should be gone later this year I would think. he was living in it temporarily until he got that other place across the creek done. His family have owned that property since the 50's he told me.

HAvnt fished any this year but still drive by most weekends. Dont remember if it was last weekend or the one before but some folks were parked up on the road and had hiked down the bank and were fishing on the west bank. Saw what looked like a farmer with a ford flatbed who had driven down and judging by his body language was giving them an earfull.

Maybe he caught the guys doing it then. Hope so, I don't want another earful!
