Brian K. Shaffer Posted January 4, 2006 Author Posted January 4, 2006 Yes - there was a lot of confusion.. sorry / thats my fault. I left out a ton. I am speaking of the area above Bull Shoals Dam, Lakewood I believe. The turn is before the Wishes and Fishes bait shop thats on the left.. its a left turn into what I think was the most popular dock area at the dam area, possibly Bull Shoals Marina. If you find the water from here.. you will pass the marina/shop on the left and if you continue to drive - you will find this high spot I am referring to. You really cant miss it. It was summer time when I saw all these fish.. they were just laying there - begging for me to try to get to a fly in front of 'em. I got to them allright.. and I lost 3 different bugs .. making trips back to the car every time thinking maybe I could have been in an area that you werent supposed to be fishing. The sight of the water really is locked into memory. best fishes - Brian Just once I wish a trout would wink at me! ozarkflyfisher@gmail.com I'm the guy wearing the same Simms longbilled hat for 10 years now.
Wayne SW/MO Posted January 4, 2006 Posted January 4, 2006 No Walleye allowed out of Swan, unless there is a recent change. Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.
Sam Posted January 5, 2006 Posted January 5, 2006 there WAS a dock just above the mouth of Swan Creek for many years but was removed years ago. I had a discussion with my cousin about that the last time I saw him. When I was a teenager (1960's), my dad, uncle, cousin, and I rented a boat on Bull Shoals once. I remember that a restaurant sat on a hill high above the dock, because we came in for lunch and looked down on the dock and lake as we ate. I moved back to the Ozarks 15 years ago, and I know upper Bull Shoals pretty well now. I couldn't figure out where in the world that dock and restaurant were, because there's nothing like that now on the Missouri side. My cousin is a little older than me, and he says it was at Shadow Rock where Swan runs in - and that the dock and restaurant have been gone for years.
