jjtroutbum Posted December 18, 2006 Posted December 18, 2006 "Mud Puppies" is what they were called by my dads long time fishin buddy Rick. His son used to get bored while we(our two families) were all at Bennett for summer vacation and Tim could catch em on jigs anytime he got distracted....thanks for the good memories on this post. MTM Posted December 19, 2006 Posted December 19, 2006 I had a client catch a Brown Trout with one about that big it it's throat. He was using a size # 2 streamer when he caught it. Now you tell me how that fish was going to eat that streamer when he had a scuplin that big in his throat LOL Ron
Mikey Posted December 29, 2006 Posted December 29, 2006 Have a co-worker new to trout fishing that goes up around Spider Creek. He swears by spending an hour catching sculpins on small mealworms, then using the 20 or so he caught as bait. Says he runs his knife through their skull to cause them to stink, then floats them down the stream. Seems like a great job for someone with kids, have them catch the sculpins, and use their catches for the bait! BTW: They sure are u-g-l-y! Each time I buy a new fly............ My wife gives me the same look........ I give her when she buys another purse... ..............................
