upstream Posted February 11, 2014 Posted February 11, 2014 Was it a good time for you ? This was my second season for c/r . Over all caught a good number of fish and had several good day to fish. Hope regular season is just as good with bigger fish than last year
laker67 Posted February 11, 2014 Posted February 11, 2014 I am glad you enjoyed upstream. But for me it was the worst season I have seen since the number one opener in 1976. Fish size and fish numbers are declining at an alarming rate. Most all of our big fish go to feed the masses at the urban ponds. It is a sad day, when you can walk the banks at Montauk, and not see a fish bigger than 4 lbs on opening day of c and r. Next season, I think I will go to st Louis and Jackson for the entire winter season. I will not bother to waste my time at the trout parks.
flyfishmaster Posted February 11, 2014 Posted February 11, 2014 I was only able to make it down to BSSP on the very last day of catch and release. There were very few people there as well. I did catch a decent number of fish with one really of size to talk about. A 20" male rainbow down in Zone #3, all the rest were in the 6" - 12" range. One observation I noticed in zone #3 is all the moss. It is everywhere and thick. It is going to be rough for the bait fishermen down there. Later, FFM Woo Hoo Fish On!!
