duckydoty Posted February 13, 2014 Posted February 13, 2014 Got done working kind of early today so I decided to see if I could find the crappie down at the Landing again. Started fishing at 3:30 and fished for 2 hours. No water was running and no breeze was blowing. Started a little further out from shore a couple hundred yards above the Fish House straight lining brown and orange 3/32 oz. marabou jigs. Picked up a couple trout, 3 small crappie and 2 blue gills. Changed over to a white bodied trout magnet on a 1/32 oz gold head 6 feet under and indicator and found a small pocket of crappie. Caught 7 or 8 of them with one going 12 inches. The rest were under 8 inches. Also caught another 5-6 blue gills and 7-8 more trout with two of them being pretty good chunkers in the 15-16 inch range. I would cast the trout magnet out and let it sink under the indicator for about 8 seconds then give it a little twitch every 2-3 seconds. Kept busy reeling in fish, but not enough of them were the nice sized crappie I was looking for. A Little Rain Won't Hurt Them Fish.....They're Already Wet!! Visit my website at.. Ozark Trout Runners
crappiefisherman Posted February 13, 2014 Posted February 13, 2014 I saw a boat deploying his trolling motor in at 7.45 this morning. Maybe he fished the biggins out early [ [
Gatorjet Posted February 15, 2014 Posted February 15, 2014 Nick and I went there a couple weeks ago when we were at Lilleys' for the R. A. W. Tournament. Thought we'd go find some crappie for dinner Thursday. Had a great trout fry!. Went back for R. A. W., caught crappie! Go figure. LOL Real men go propless!
