Members Chris89 Posted February 17, 2014 Members Posted February 17, 2014 I was wondering if any one has been to cape fair lately and if it was ice free?
GNSfishing Posted February 17, 2014 Posted February 17, 2014 Was there yesterday and it was still froze from Virgin Bluff up past Bridgeport Bridge. Down from Cape Fair Marina there was ice from Wooly down to Piney in the morning in the afternoon the ice had shrunk to a stretch from just above Buzzard up the the point where you turn north heading to Wooly. So I would guess that with the warm winds today will remove the ice down from the marina and should really shrink the Bridgeport area a lot.......
Members Fat Boy Posted February 18, 2014 Members Posted February 18, 2014 I fished from CF down today egged until the wind got up, had 8 fish 4 really good keeps in the 3+lb range all on jerk bait. Flat points with a drop and had to have trees.
Members Chris89 Posted February 18, 2014 Author Members Posted February 18, 2014 Thanks guys was it pretty clear?

Members Jozark Posted February 18, 2014 Members Posted February 18, 2014 Fat Boy if you don't mind me asking: What kind of jerkbaits were you throwing?
Members Fat Boy Posted February 19, 2014 Members Posted February 19, 2014 Not clear but great color, I love the Smithwick Rouge when I can get buy with throwing it, otherwise Mcstick is the cert best stick bait I've ever thrown right out of the package will probably be told its not a good bait but I'll take these 2 every time . Funny thing is I never seen a dead shad all day.
Football Head Posted February 19, 2014 Posted February 19, 2014 That's nice to know about the shad in the Cape Fair area. I fished around the KC yesterday and there were dead shad all over the place.
Members Jozark Posted February 19, 2014 Members Posted February 19, 2014 Thanks! I fish the Cape Fair area a lot when I can get back home, and I believe the upper James section of Table Rock warms up the fastest. Hopefully the big girls start staging soon! Tight Lines!
