Lifes2Short Posted February 23, 2014 Posted February 23, 2014 Same luck as the report from 2/19. Put in at State Park and fished hard till 2:30 without a bite. Went back into State Park Cove and ended up crappie fishing and catching a nice bunch of them. Once again the crappie were in 20 fow on the bottom with the shad. We fished around a number of other boats and everyone was catching a bunch of slabs. Water had warmed up to 35 degrees. If somebody has figured out how to catch the bass in this cold water I would appreciate a little help. :-) Tight Lines.
Members Nitro2014 Posted February 23, 2014 Members Posted February 23, 2014 Thanks for the report and the tips on finding the fish.
Skeeter ZX190 Posted February 23, 2014 Posted February 23, 2014 Lifes2short, which boat were you in? I was in the white and red Skeeter.
Football Head Posted February 23, 2014 Posted February 23, 2014 I saw you all in there crappie fishing today. I also went the entire day without catching a bass. Glad our club tourney up there today was cancelled haha.
Lifes2Short Posted February 23, 2014 Author Posted February 23, 2014 We were in the black Champion, the boats we were fishing around were catching a ton of slabs. The 8or10 we caught we gave to the two guys who were fishing on the bank.
powerdive Posted February 23, 2014 Posted February 23, 2014 We were in the white Sylvan. Had 2 limits, all on Jigging Raps. Best depth for us was 38 feet, mostly fishing the tops of the schools. Also caught some on the mainlake, on the rim of the channel where it hit a deep point. 50-60 feet.
