Dewayne French Posted February 25, 2014 Posted February 25, 2014 With so many dead shad on the area lakes it is a wonder anyone can catch a limit of bass. Even the ALMIGHTY A-RIG cannot compete with mother nature. I have fished Norfork and Table Rock lately with poor results. The fish I have been catching all have one thing in common the bottom. Weather 5' or 35' they are bottom related my take on that is that all that they have do to do is open there mouth and eat not chase. Hope the next few weeks changes this.
Stump bumper Posted March 9, 2014 Posted March 9, 2014 What are you using on the bottom? I would probably use a grub or fluke but just wondering what is working as far as colors on Norfolk. I am coming over the last weekend of the month to check out the circus (basscat tourney). I think once the water warms they will clean up those freebies real quick and start chasing live shad again, but might stay on bottom when the craws come out since the craw fish are feasting on those dead shad also.
roy_eros Posted March 10, 2014 Posted March 10, 2014 Fished norfork Saturday in a club tournament. 24 boats zero 5 fish limits. 9pounds won. Tons of dead and dying shad all around the lake. Good luck.
Riverwhy Posted March 10, 2014 Posted March 10, 2014 I fished out of the Panther Bay access on Saturday and found very tough fishing. I could graph a few fish in 20 to 25 foot of water but they sure did not like my lure selection. The large amount of dead and dying shad will hopefully disapear in the next couple of weeks.
