Old plug Posted March 7, 2014 Posted March 7, 2014 I took the temperature off my dack a few days ago and The gravois here was 35 degrees. we had two windless nights in a row and wake up both mornings with solid sheets of ice covering the whole lake. We also crossed the tole bridge about 9am and as far as you could see up and down the lake it was frozen. When we came back at 12:30 it was clear. At any rate is in one cold body of water.
WHARFRAT Posted March 7, 2014 Posted March 7, 2014 So I guess your not going to do the ol Polar Bear thing and head out for an afternoon swim? @lozcrappie
Old plug Posted March 7, 2014 Author Posted March 7, 2014 not unless I fall put of the boat. then if I do not get out of that water very fact it will be my last swim. At this temperature you can be a goner in a few minutes. It is really a dangerous time to be out in a boat.
mwfischer Posted March 10, 2014 Posted March 10, 2014 Have to believe with 70+ for a couple days, shot of cold but then back into the 60s/70s this should be the end of the ice yes? I can't imagine it's going to bump the temp that much before my trip this weekend but I suppose you never know!
Old plug Posted March 10, 2014 Author Posted March 10, 2014 Last evening when I checked it was 36 degrees on the surface. There is a pretty brisk wind out there today. I can guarantee you it it not nice on the water right now. we have winter weather coming in the middle of the week as well.
