Well fished the tourney today,

With no help from the Corp we were at minimum flow all day. Which greatly reduced the area of the

river I and most people could access. Since my boat is new I don't beat on it too bad.

I did talk to one guy who did the float down from the state park and he said it went well.

My plan was to put in at cotter and run up to wildcat shoals but I never made it that far.

I finished 15th out of 60 but was only 3ozs out of the money ( top 10 ).

The winning team posted 6.0 lbs and they won big fish 1.9 lbs.

For at least the second year in a row no legal browns were weighed.

Although I didn't win the Boat I did win some swag and a good time was had by all.

Cartney, you should have stopped me and said hello. I always like to meet fellow OzarkAnglers forum'ers. Glad to hear you had a great time. I was so excited for the tournament this year because we fished yesterday and just hammered big rainbows on the 2 units. Then we get up this morning and it is dead low... We ended up tying for 3rd this year.

Yeah Clay I would of liked to of meet you. Good job getting third, that was tough fishing. Did you fish cotter or did you trailer up river. This was my first time fishing cotter and I was disappointed I could not catch a 2 lb er because down on my end of the river it's a pretty common occurance. But like I said it was a good time and next year I will be better prepared.

We put in at Cotter and motored up to Wildcat. The fishing at Cotter is really a lot better when there is a bit more water. The water is so still there when there is no flow that it is hard to get much to bite. The fish are really spooky when they are like that. We went up river and found some deeper water with a little chop on top so the fish wouldn't be quite as leery. Good luck to you next time. If you ever see me on the river, feel free to pull up and say hello. I don't get over here as much as I used to, having two young ones at home now, but if you catch me, say hi. I used to fish over here a lot and miss it. My family had a cabin at Buffalo City for many years and we used to be over here all the time. Take it easy and tight lines!

What size line are you throwing to catch all those fish? And to what do you attribute the lack of ability to catch fish under dire circumstances at a place like Cotter?

You know, we fish super light tackle. You bass fishermen wouldn't understand...did you know they make line lighter than 12lb test?

And our lack of ability to catch fish at Cotter with low water is attributed to the 97 boats located between the ramp and Millers, at any given time half of which are motoring. That and Osama. And global warming. 97 boats, Osama bin Laden, and global warming makes it very difficult to catch fish at Cotter.

Ohhhh... I hear you there Mr. Goforth. It's hard to catch those trout with big line like that. You sound like a novice fisherman because I saw your posts about Walleye up the River as well. I totally understand the boat traffic at Cotter. I took some of my family over there one day and fished those jigs you're talking about and it can be really tough with all the boat traffic over there. For what it's worth, you might try some night crawlers tipped with orange salmon eggs when the traffic gets thick. Sounds like that guy is jealous of all those fish you've been catching!

You guys reckon JD Dudley is the same fella trolling under the screen name JOE D? Seems kind of fishy

Maybe next year I can fish the tourny, I am wanting to upgrade this year

everything in this post is purely opinion and is said to annoy you.

Gentlemen,

I should clear something up. Mr. JD Dudley is a good friend and was just giving me a hard time. He used to be an avid trout fisherman but has switched over to primarily bass fishing. He even won the Central Pro-Am a couple of years ago. I was just joking around with him.

Slidergrub, I am interested as to what makes you assume I am a novice? I was trying to figure out how to respond to that assumption, but rather than get offended, I'd rather open up the conversation and maybe we can learn a little about each other.
