shockley32 Posted March 12, 2014 Posted March 12, 2014 Hope I don't sound like a jerk but - the entire lake is good!!!!! Depends on what species you are after, time of year, bank of boat? Give us a little more info and perhaps we can point you in the right direction. Brad Vision 5619 1 Have your visited Limitville lately?
Members Muskie Bob Posted March 12, 2014 Members Posted March 12, 2014 The Lake isn't much different than any other lake. There are conservation signs to help locate brush piles or structure to fish. And, the Missouri conservation has maps, etc. to help locate other structures. A lot depends on what you are fishing for and how you like to fish, as well as, the types of lures or baits you enjoy fishing. continue to watch this site and others for tips on how others are doing. Like Brad said, give more info to what you are looking for.

Bitethis Posted March 12, 2014 Posted March 12, 2014 I usually fish on the bank i fish for everything really cats white bass crappie anything when you are heading to bolivar landing, there is a dirt road to the left just before you get to the boat ramp. If you go down that dirt road, there is access to some fishing docks, and good bank access you could get to for some crappie/bass. I have seen a LOT of crappie caught over there. Pomme is a great lake for crappie. If you are looking for whites, Pomme hasn't had the best luck with those in the last few years. I am not saying there are not White Bass there, but if you live in Bolivar, you would have better luck heading over to Aldrich and fishing there for whites. I have caught an equal amount of cats at Pomme and Stockton. Both are great, and if you can get smoe live shad with a cast net...you will be better off. Catfishing doesn't usually pick up for me until I see shad balls though, with the shad being 2"+. You can probably catch them year-round with the right approach, but I prefer late June through November for Catfishing. Pomme has some really good bass fishing too. You will obviously have more success in a boat where you can move around the lake a bit...I cannot help you with the best bank access for that. Pomme is also a great fishery for Musky...just saying. Hope you have some good success this year, and welcome to the area and forum!

MOPanfisher Posted March 13, 2014 Posted March 13, 2014 For me to get a strike all I have to do is take one of my favorite Rapalas out fishing and within a little while a musky will jump it! Vision 5619 1
Bitethis Posted March 13, 2014 Posted March 13, 2014 thanks for all the help how do you catch musky? sorry for all the questions I am not expert in this area, but I would check out http://www.missourimuskies.org/ . It is a Pomme Chapter, and they sometimes do muskie fishing seminars for a small price, but you get to go out and learn how to fish for them with intent instead of catching them by accident, which is what most people do on a crank bait, spinner bait, etc. another website to check out - http://www.pommemuskieguideservice.com/
Members geomann74 Posted March 26, 2014 Members Posted March 26, 2014 I am a member of the musky club, great group of guys there. Throughout the year we have several programs that will take you out on the lake to fish for musky and show you the proper way to handle these beasts. You can go to the website Blue Catfish provided and it will give you a list of the different dates we have planned. The other link he provided it for Earle Hammond, he is a member of the club too and VERY knowledgeable about the lake.
