glennL Posted March 16, 2014 Posted March 16, 2014 I will be down at Emerald Beach the 1st week of April. Every year, my neighbor and I fish the Kings River for White bass. Usually we put in at sweetwater. Last year, i had heard the white bass fishing was great down by the town of Beaver, just over the AR line. Anyone ever fish this area and will the 1st week be the time to visit this area? For those that have fished both areas, which would be a better bite? Thanks, GL Glenn
Feathers and Fins Posted March 16, 2014 Posted March 16, 2014 You are talking about some of the best Walleye water around when you talk about Beavertown, Whites also get in the area as do Crappie and a few miles upriver it is possible to lock into a very large striper not to mention there is the trout they eat as well. You might want to check out the Beaver Tailwaters section on here. https://www.facebook.com/pages/Beaver-Lake-Arkansas-Fishing-Report/745541178798856
rps Posted March 16, 2014 Posted March 16, 2014 Beaver town to Blue Springs (just below Houseman) is prime white bass and walleye water. Especially from March 1 to April 15. Where and what pattern will depend on the weather and the weather trends.
glennL Posted March 18, 2014 Author Posted March 18, 2014 Appreciate the replies. How is the navigation down that far? Depth ? Thanks again. Glenn
rps Posted March 18, 2014 Posted March 18, 2014 At Beaver channel depth is 23 to 25 feet right now. At Houseman the channel depth is 15 to 17. The key is to stay in the channel and to be aware there are two spots between those two points where depth becomes less.
