Members coloradofly Posted March 20, 2014 Members Posted March 20, 2014 Spent some time last weekend up the war eagle, about 2 miles from war eagle marina. White bass where not up that far yet, but water was gin clear.. Has anyone been up the war eagle n(or around blue springs) in the past few days? I have heard that the water looks like chocolate milk from this recent rain event.
Members Steady99 Posted March 20, 2014 Members Posted March 20, 2014 I went up to the junction, just short of War Eagle... Water definitely chocolate in color. NO debris floating, but NOT clear... Not much boat traffic. Guy at HCreek marina said he saw me and one other on the water, but VERY cold before 5pm... Temps at late afternoon 49F that area. Water is stained in varying degrees till maybe Beaver Shores. Creeks --> 55F at the rear of Coose but nothing much there. Very few threadfin shad in evidence. Guess the cold water crippled that production for a while. ......steady
Members LarryC Posted March 20, 2014 Members Posted March 20, 2014 Were about a mile north of 412 on the White. Just looked out the window and lots of logs/trash floating in the chocolate milk. Be careful if your out in this end of the lake. Making Beaver Lake safe for all the little fish...one striper at a time.
JohnF52 Posted March 22, 2014 Posted March 22, 2014 White River was running good volume and clear at Elkins today. That will push the mud line toward 412 Bridge in a few days, barring more rains.
Members RiverFisher1 Posted March 22, 2014 Members Posted March 22, 2014 went to point 12 this evening. Still brown and couldn't see my bait even a few inches down. didn't catch any white bass but there were a few jumping around
wc1063 Posted March 22, 2014 Posted March 22, 2014 Avoid pt 12, especially the white river side, LOTS of debris and muddy water. Water temp 49 as of last nite.
