All in all the evening bite was the best. From 7pm to midnight caught a mixed bag of crappie, some nice half pound bull gills a darn carp and a ton of short eyes. Eyes and crappie came from minnows and white twister tails hauled in slow tipped with a bit of crawler for flavor and scent. The gills were an accident off of whole crawlers on the bottom. 4 keeper crappie. 2 dozen gills. I lost count of short walleye but I went out with 4 dozen minnows and left with none. We were fishing the main lake just north of beaver creek. I had seen a few whites caught on extremely small white twisters with a reg gold hook and a split shot ran slow and on the bottom by a couple ole timers I talk to on the shore line. Most of the fish came right at dark and trailed off around midnight. Once the water warms up ill break out the boat. Till then no need to burn up the gas card.

That is a great report and it's awesome to hear a report from that area. There is basically no reports from the area and it's my favorite to fish from there up the Powersite dam. How deep was the water you were fishing? Was you bobber fishing with the minnows?

It's pretty deep right now. Bottom fishing with the dead sticks. Casting with an 1/8oz chartreuse jig head with a pearl swim bait. Minnows and crawlers were on the bottom. A few times they would get hit on the way down.

Nice report. It gives me encouragement to go down. The last time I went down, they were shocking walleye for the hatchery. I never even got a bite. I think a bait fishing trip from The Barker hole area on down might be in order. Thanks for posting.

I've been thinking the same thing, but Flat Creek is much closer for me and I always end up going over there.
