Bitethis Posted March 24, 2014 Posted March 24, 2014 Hit the water about 10:30 at Bridgeport...Went to point 15, and fished from there up to the bend before the bridge. caught 3 short bass. Cruised up past the first flat beyond the bridge, and started catching more short bass. Caught 1 White (16.5"). Went to the James river arm, no luck there except a few short bass. Came Back to Flat creek Arm, just around point 15, fished the bank all the way to bridgeport and caught countless black bass...I literally lost count. Did have 1 double hook up on the A-Rig though, that was fun...but it was no comparison to the single hook ups of white bass we were about to experience. About 3pm, we were back in Flat Creek, throwing the A-Rig with Berkley Havoc Subwoofers, pear white. Wind was blowing. We put 20 whites in the boat in about 2 hours, then they just shut off! Was a great day overall though, saw a few forum members, saw a lot of fishermen, and had a fun day on the water.
Members capndan Posted March 24, 2014 Members Posted March 24, 2014 Thats good stuff! Makes me want to start chasing bucketmouths. Did you catch most of your blackies on the rig?
Bitethis Posted March 24, 2014 Author Posted March 24, 2014 Thats good stuff! Makes me want to start chasing bucketmouths. Did you catch most of your blackies on the rig? Caught all the LMB on a-rig. A-rig is the only thing I need in my boat until about end of April. It will catch anything, lol. I did throw a chrome sexy shad rattle trap, threadfin shad stick bait, and yamamoto crank bait (chart/black) in the muddy water. 9 hours of fishing, and a-rig was the only thing that produced. It was producing so well though, that the only reason I threw the other baits was to see if the fish were just hitting anything in sight, or if the Rig was pulling em out. It was the rig.
duckydoty Posted March 25, 2014 Posted March 25, 2014 Sounds like a great day of fishing out there. I'm gonna have to try that a-rig thing on them whites. I've seen it work well…….capndan…. A Little Rain Won't Hurt Them Fish.....They're Already Wet!! Visit my website at.. Ozark Trout Runners
