brian prewitt75 Posted April 1, 2014 Posted April 1, 2014 We will be staying at Hickory Hollow in a couple of weeks and am wondering what to expect of the fishing around the Kings River area? Hoping to hit either crappie or walleye at that time. Wondering what the best baits or lures may be. I am able to set up for trolling either crankbaits or spinner rigs for eyes or anything for the crappies. Any advice will be appreciated. Thanks and tight lines. Spoony Slayr
Bill Babler Posted April 1, 2014 Posted April 1, 2014 You are hitting the river at a very good time barring heavy rain. Most of the boys in the know up there have a very good supply of Flicker Shad for both casting and trolling. Crappie just love swimming minnows that time of the year usually with a 1/8th oz jig head. There are some really good fishermen here that patrol those waters in the Spring and I'm sure they will give you the heads up. Good luck and enjoy your stay up the Kings River. http://whiteriveroutfitters.com http://whiteriverlodgebb.com
brian prewitt75 Posted April 1, 2014 Author Posted April 1, 2014 Good thing because there is a large supply of Flicker Shad in the boat and a bunch of sassy shad. Hoping rains aren't too heavy before we hit it and the bride can enjoy 3 days of fishing. Spoony Slayr
brian prewitt75 Posted April 4, 2014 Author Posted April 4, 2014 Nobody is giving advice so that must mean the fishing is so good that its a secret. Probably start off searching with Flicker Shads and then dead drift or jig minnows. I was hoping to find some eyes that far down the lake. Have to wait a week to see. Spoony Slayr
