Had another stellar night on the James put the boat in around 9:30 and fished till 3:00am. Caught lots of nice males 15-16 inches and caught some great Sows. Water temp was 56 and color was the same as the night be for. Fished the same set up floating line, sink tip and clousers chartreuse and white and the bigger fish seemed to like Chartruse and pink. Swing the clouser through the deep water when it is almost straight down stream strip it in very quickly 3-5 times let it sit and set the hook:)
Here are a few pics from last night.
Remember Night Time is the Right Time!!
The sow in this pic was right at 18 inches and weighed right at 3 pounds.

Nice work! Have they made their way up to Blunks yet? I fished that last year and struck out. Not sure I would fish it again, but then again............

I was also down there from 6 till almost dark( forgot our headlamps across the river and we waded across the riffle then walked down below the boat ramp to the gravel bank) or else we would have stayed till after dark. We had 20 fish and left before the real bite even started. Big sows and small males.

If the weather warms back up I will have to make the trip this weekend.

Ollie don't you have a run in the Elk?

Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.

Yea Wayne, but they tend to show up later than most runs. Not too sure why, but they seem to come up there a couple weeks after the main run on the Spring. Plus the water level was a little too high for me in the yak when I looked at it last week. It is closer for me however. That dang fish porn of whites has me all excited!
