flyfishmaster Posted April 4, 2014 Posted April 4, 2014 2014 Ellie Hair Flyer.pdf All, We just wanted to share the news of our youngest daughter, Ellie. She has decided to shave her head for St. Baldrick’s, for childhood cancer research. (Please see attachment.) Ellie has donated her hair before to Locks of Love, but this year she has decided to go above and beyond. We are extremely proud of Ellie and wanted to share the opportunity to support her. You can donate in her name for her selfless efforts, to St. Baldrick’s. Ellie’s link is: http://www.stbaldricks.org/participants/mypage/719660/2014 No donation is too small. $1, $2 or as much as you can give. I talked at length with Ellie in regards to her choice. Not wanting to discourage her efforts, but to make her aware that her decision could possibly bring a little negative attention from school mates about not having any hair (at first). Ellie’s positive and “blow it off” attitude is amazing. Her response was that she would just walk away from anyone that would make any mean comments to her. I think that her ability to be so caring and so loving is admirable and really fills my heart with pride. It take a lot of courage to do what she is doing. She understands that it will take YEARS for her hair to grow back. She is okay with that. We also welcome you to come out to NO-JACKS in Smithon, IL to support her, the day she is getting her hair shaved. The event starts at 2:00pm, on Saturday, April 26th. Thank you in advance for your support in our little girl’s courageous efforts! Kim & Lyn Ahne aka: Flyfishmaster Woo Hoo Fish On!!

Wayne SW/MO Posted April 4, 2014 Posted April 4, 2014 Great kid! Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.
Mark Posted April 6, 2014 Posted April 6, 2014 Very cool kid. Kids are so uptight nowadays, worried about appearances at such an early age, and what other kids will think. Be proud that you are raising an individual free thinker. I have a feeling you will have many more opportunities to be proud of her.
Mitch f Posted April 7, 2014 Posted April 7, 2014 Very thoughtful of her!! The world is a better place because of attitudes like that! Tell her thanks! "Honor is a man's gift to himself" Rob Roy McGregor
