Dylan Cluver Posted April 11, 2014 Posted April 11, 2014 Heard some guys in a boat last night landing quality walleye. No one gripes about obese fish.
vonreed Posted April 11, 2014 Posted April 11, 2014 Heard some guys in a boat last night landing quality walleye. If that had been me witnessing that I would be down there tonight in my boat in that spot. Were they up at Taylor Shoal?

Yes, do the whites or walleyes go up much farther? Could a guy find them at the Y bridge. Do either run up to horse creek? No one gripes about obese fish.
Members jcioni Posted April 12, 2014 Members Posted April 12, 2014 Fished tonight from 9pm to 11:30. Not much happening, caught two 13 bass back to back. After that, one small male & really nice goggle eye. Nobody doing much. Fished right below ramp. A guy n a boat in middle of channel caught a walleye. Beautiful evening.
Fishslayer88 Posted April 12, 2014 Posted April 12, 2014 Me and a buddy fished the shoal tonight both limited and caught 10 more on the float back to the ramp. I caught my eyes on white sliders and an A rig tonight I was using purple swimming minnows.
Members Rick Baker Posted April 12, 2014 Members Posted April 12, 2014 I was the big guy in the green kayak. For the life of me I haven't been able to do well with whites down there. I'm gonna try again but gonna purchase some 4lb test and some swimming minnows. Wow that trail was rough on my truck. Looks like it's been rougher on others. Seen a bumper and some mirrors.
RSBreth Posted April 12, 2014 Posted April 12, 2014 I was down there yesterday morning - lots of people - there will be tons of folks down there today. I caught two nice 3 pounders and some short ones on an 8 size XRap in olive on 8 pound fluoro - I don't think it's as much the line as it was stated the day bite is tough - it's better at night. And they were spawning up at the shoal - it's gonna be hot then over by next week so get them while you can.
Wayne SW/MO Posted April 12, 2014 Posted April 12, 2014 Yes, do the whites or walleyes go up much farther? Could a guy find them at the Y bridge. Do either run up to horse creek? I've seen them at Cox access, but I don't know how that compares to the water level. I suspect that TR would have to be high to push them that far up. Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.
