JamiePatterson Posted April 13, 2014 Posted April 13, 2014 Took my bro-in-law to the river for his and his 9yo son's first river experience. Wow, what a great time! Fished Norfork for the first time in years on Friday from 1:30-5:30 and cought a ton of fish. I always thought one unit there was perfect and Friday really proved that to be true. The new guys had (especially the boy) had a hard time with the current - really the hardest thing to master when jig fishing. They eventually cought a few 1 and 10 I think, but had a blast seeing a new place. Norfork total was 67 with around 30 in the 16"-19" range. Wow what chunky fish. Norfork is hot! Hit the white from 7:45-11:30 Saturday and the 3 units (down from 5 Friday) made it much easier for my rookies . 111 fish in that time span and they had a blast! Didn't really try for any big browns, just looked for easy to catch fish to give the nephews line a tug -he ended up catching 12ish. Was hesitant to post #s but went ahead. The rivers are great with these nice spring flows. Fishing from a moving boat, constantly presenting your lure to new fish, and the decreased skittishness the bigger water leads to can equal some great fishing!
BFTMASTER Posted May 8, 2014 Posted May 8, 2014 Next time you are over there, take the boy to Dry Run Creek. Great place for the young ones
