NoLuck Posted June 2, 2014 Posted June 2, 2014 Good deal Jerry. Last weekend they were biting drys pretty good. Also did pretty well on most midge colors. You just had to change up occasionally. Enjoy your trip and let us know how it went. Hopefully the weather wil cooperate.

I Need a few for the bamboo rod. Like for them to be olive or light olive. Let me know and I'll get them if you can do them.
Members ksbass Posted June 3, 2014 Members Posted June 3, 2014 Hi Rich, Yep we make them as short as 3' and as long as 7'. We've made several for the bamboo guys using some lt cahill and tan thread. Olive will be no problem as well. How many? I'll make you a killer indicator version as well to try out. Been using one all week and really liking it. Give us a week or so since we are fishin not working this week. What other colors for the BH midges were working for you. Did better today with a black head black thread and silver wire. NoLuck Posted June 3, 2014 Posted June 3, 2014 Troy, I'll take 4 of the leaders when you get to them. I'm beginning to wonder if lighter colors may be better. But I'll take 2 olive and 1 black and white. Surprise me with the 4th I guess with something you think has been better for dry fly fishing. No pink though!! Tell Em sorry... LOL The last weekend I was down was Memorial Day weekend and I fished my usual, plus olive and rust mostly. I also fished a red wine color with black bead that did well. None of them other than my usual had wire. The one thing that I noticed was that in slower water though was that you had to give them a little twitch occasionally. I was also using 6.5x tippet. Charlie has it in the Trout Hunter brand. Just make sure you wet the knot good before pulling it tight or it will weaken and break off your fly. Let me know when you get those leaders done and I'll get you my address. I'm at a different one than you sent them to last time. Thanks
rcguy Posted June 3, 2014 Posted June 3, 2014 Made it down last night and got set up in c 5 number 517. So far no fishing and I'm planning on going out this evening. Nap time for now. I plan on leaving friday so plenty of time. Popup air conditioning is wonderful. Seems really humid today. Anyway I'll post later.
NoLuck Posted June 3, 2014 Posted June 3, 2014 Just remember if you can't hang meat in there it's too warm Jerry. LOL
rcguy Posted June 4, 2014 Posted June 4, 2014 Looks like the weather is gonna get bad after today so we are heading home this evening. Fished yesterday late afternoon and evening. Caught several on an 16 black body soft hackle below the gauge house and then worked up to the spring and caught a couple on a Griffiths gnat. Gonna fish today while the sun is out and let the popup dry out.
rcguy Posted June 4, 2014 Posted June 4, 2014 Rained early this morning pretty good. No leaks so far.
rcguy Posted June 4, 2014 Posted June 4, 2014 Great to meet you guys, Troy and Seth. Fished a couple of hours in the fast water and caught 3 on the secret emerger fly. I really liked the leader with the indicator section! Thanks for everything. I'm heading home since the weather appears to be getting Rainy everyday. I'll be back the next time I get vacation......oh wait...that's forever on vacation now!!!! It sucks you have wait till you're old.
