Members willybill Posted December 28, 2006 Members Posted December 28, 2006 Hello everyone, Thanks to all for sharing your fishing experiences and wisdom. I have been learning here for a while, this seems to be a great community with plenty to offer. I guess you could say that I am a seasonal angler, mostly bass fishing in the spring and summer while spending the cold part of the year catch and releasing at Maramec and sometimes Montauk. Our family spends a few days in the "Trout Parks" in the summer as well. I have recently been bitten by the fly fishing bug, in the past I have only Trout fished with spinning tackle. A trip last week with a fly rod in hand now has changed the way I look at the sport. I also ran into TopJaw fishing this week. He took the time to show me a few things that helped me and I thank him for that. Any and all help is appreciated. My son and I will be at Maramec Sunday to enjoy the day as he is Home for a short bit of leave from the Military. Hope to see you all soon on the water!

Members willybill Posted December 29, 2006 Author Members Posted December 29, 2006 No doubts here on the "addiction" part of fly fishing. I have always loved to Trout fish, driving an hour plus to be able to enjoy it keeps me from overdoing it. And yes the new waders arrived from Cabela's yesterday, not knowing a thing about fly tying and no fly shops in our area is my next issue. Glad to hear from you all. Good luck and Good fishing!
jjtroutbum Posted December 30, 2006 Posted December 30, 2006 Well not a problem there. I know this guy, and he knows this place. Where well sometimes he's fishing and sometimes he's tying and hes been known if the fish arent biteing, to start lyin!
