Members Luckyj Posted May 20, 2014 Author Members Posted May 20, 2014 I have surely found the ways to you do NOT want to do it on the days I have been out there LOL Beaver Lake has been a finicky lake for over 20 years that I know of and I am sure beyond that. But it sure beats the hell out of staying home LOL
Feathers and Fins Posted May 20, 2014 Posted May 20, 2014 I have said this before to people... If you can consistently produce on Beaver then you can on any lake around she is the best teacher a person can ask for if you let her teach you. A big plus is knowing the seasons and areas the fish should be in. I'm following a annual pattern and its paying off. Go back and read the reports on here and you can see a pattern and method to my madness. https://www.facebook.com/pages/Beaver-Lake-Arkansas-Fishing-Report/745541178798856
Members Luckyj Posted May 20, 2014 Author Members Posted May 20, 2014 AMEN F & F!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It all comes down to ONE thing and one thing only. And us old guys hate it more than others LOL But it all comes down to doing your HOMEWORK! When I left NWA 15-16 years go I could fish Beaver with the best of them now????? I am learning it all over again. LOL
Feathers and Fins Posted May 20, 2014 Posted May 20, 2014 I love her, I can truthfully say she makes me a better fishermen every single time I go out and teaches me something every time.... All the best boats, rods, reals, baits and electronics don't mean diddly poo if you don't listen to what your being told on the water that given time. My tackle box was massive when I started on her I had to have everything under the moon! That was stupid on my part and I really should have known better by that point in my life. Biggest lesson I have had to relearn every stinking time is find out what works and use it... Now my boxes are stocked full of what works and all the other stuff is collecting dust someplace ( probably the same place my wife says my shotgun shells breed, its a scary cabinet ). If I could tell newbies one thing its you only need, Keitechs, Flicker Shad, Rapala SR series, XPS spoons in white and silver white, Bobby Garland crappie jigs and assorted Surface baits like PopR and Pencil Poppers and a good selection of circle hooks and split shots. https://www.facebook.com/pages/Beaver-Lake-Arkansas-Fishing-Report/745541178798856
