Dirtracer35 Posted May 22, 2014 Posted May 22, 2014 Anybody ever fish it. I'd be off the bank. Been down there once with no luck. Fished wilson creek(everybody said there weren't any fish). I ended up catching 15 Smallies. Several over 3lbs. And 10 big big crappie. But wanted to the girlfriend out and Delaware town is closer than anything. Any tips? Any good spots from the bank.
BATCAB27 Posted May 22, 2014 Posted May 22, 2014 There's not much bank to easily fish from at delaware town IMO. Theres a slow pool just down from the ramp that I see people catfishing at. Just upstream from the ramp there is some decent fishing but I,ve always gotten there by boat. Not sure how far you could wade up without swimming. I hear good things about Rivercut, but never been there. I think I'm gna check it out this weekend
MeatintheFreezer Posted May 22, 2014 Posted May 22, 2014 I put in at Delaware last weekend and floated down to Hootentown. I noticed that on the South side of the bridge someone had cleared a considerable amount of the brush out. I know I have seen folks park at the bridge and walk/climb down to the water, this might be a new path that would get you some access. Again, I only saw this from the water, I do not know if it goes all the way to the road or not. Remember - If at first you DO succeed, try not to act surprised & quit while you're ahead.
Kee sims Posted May 23, 2014 Posted May 23, 2014 Delaware town doesn't have a lot of acces for bank fishing and there's usually quite a few people swinging on rope swing and swimming around. If you can go just little ways up or down either way it gets fairly good fishing.
