Cats On The Rocks!

I talked to my friend in Greemfield today and he said the catfish are on the rocks at CC. If I dont break my neck getting down the rip rap hopefully I'll have a good report tomorrow evening. I'm headed up there first thing in the morning.

I got up to the rip rap at CC at 6:30 this morning and it rained on us till around 10;30 we decided not to drop off the rip rap because of the rain it bad enough trying to get down it in good conditions and knowing me i would have broke my neck lmbo!!!!! we fished off the old road bed for bass walleye and crappie. i caught 5 short eye in the notorious 14 7/8'' range no crappie but i caught a couple short bass on a shakey head on a red watermelon trick worm in 4 to 6 ft of water. the bass were under stumps logs and small boulders in ambush mode. I decided to experiment some more with the ned rig. i had some watermelon red zinkerz made up on the arkie 1/8oz weedless stand up head. i fished the same pattern with the ned and caught 17 spots and lm with the biggest being just shy of 16''. all were pretty much the same size and my best 5 might have gone 8lbs maybe but it sure was fun considering the morning was pretty much a wash out. 4 guys did brave it and dropped of the road and i noticed after the rain stopped they caught atleast 4 nice channel in the 3 to 5 lb class. my phone was wet so this pic is the only one that came out halfway decent but its good enough to get an idea of the size i was catching. We did run out to 39 road bed this afternoon to try some catfishing and i did catch 4 keeper crappie on a 1/16th oz pony head and a bobby garland strollR in blue thunder out at almost the end of the road bed rolling it just off the bottum. also caught two more short eye and half a dozen bass not even long enough to measure. No cats whatsoever today but it was still a great day and i didnt see but 1 boat at 39 and they put in to run their lines and didnt do no good but said they had done decent most of the week. there was 4 or 5 boats fishing the rip rip under the bridge at CC this morning and one the guys came by with his kids and they was catching a few crappie it looked like. i wish everyone a happy and safe holiday weekend and i think i will give it another try monday out at CC. if you by chance see me out there on the road bed drop by and say hi!!!
