MeatintheFreezer Posted May 29, 2014 Posted May 29, 2014 I was at CC Sunday mid day and parked in the lower lot. It was surprisingly empty. When I got back to load out, there was a truck parked along side the road just uphill from the sidewalk that goes down to the dock.....even though there were other empty spots where he could have parked. I would have never been able to back out had the spot beside me not been empty so I could maneuver around.. I had to make a 3 point turn to get backed out without hitting him with my trailer. I don't know how other folks made it out, but I am sure they were pretty upset if this moron was still parked there. I don't know if people are simply oblivious, or they are truly morons, or they think they are above everyone else, but I DO know that they are everywhere and it is part of being outdoors now days. Remember - If at first you DO succeed, try not to act surprised & quit while you're ahead.
Members Ranger Dave Posted June 2, 2014 Members Posted June 2, 2014 Unless i camp there and pay them additional monies i can not use the ramp at all! Not to mention have the courtesy parking privileges ! I may be misunderstanding your statement, but it sounds like you are saying you can't use the Cedar Ridge boat ramp unless you are camping at Cedar Ridge. This is not true. Cedar Ridge has a boat ramp inside the camp area for camper use. The ramp we are talking about here is the ramp outside the camp area and open to anyone using the lake. They wouldn't have a fee box at the top of the ramp if it was for camping use only.
DADAKOTA Posted June 3, 2014 Posted June 3, 2014 Seen lots of follies on the ramps across this State. Saw a feller up by twin bridges rip his trolling motor off the front deck when he left it down and put the boat up on plane. Makes a sickening sound. Still attached by the electrical connection so he fished it out of the drink.
REDSOXWSCHAMP Posted June 4, 2014 Posted June 4, 2014 saw a guy launch his boat out of cedar ridge awhile back, when he gagged the throttle he didn't realize his engine was turned, and he flipped the boat.makes for a bad day

If you look at the photo you'll see it's the Cedar Ridge NORTH ramp, which is reserved for campers' use only except during the winter off-season. Not a public ramp in-season--day users are supposed to launch at Cedar Ridge SOUTH. Anyone who would actually take the "corrective" actions suggested above, other than calling an authority or leaving a helpful note, is just as much of a butthole as the person who parked there. Maybe more so, because for them ignorance is not an excuse. Geez, get over yourselves! It's a minor issue at most.

blue79 Posted June 8, 2014 Posted June 8, 2014 I would have parked my car in front of his for the rest of the day or unhooked his trailer but left the chains hooked up..Get a chain 3ft long and run through his wheel and use a cordless hammerdrill and drill a hole in the concrete and then drive a tapcon through the chain into the concrete and then round off the head of the tapcon so it cant be unscrewed.Probably take 1 minute per tire..Or better yet take the tires off one at a time and set the vehicle on the tire you just took off and chuck the lugnuts into the lake
