went to Blue Mesa lake last night,Fish are hitting on the surface just before dark, water levels are looking better since they have raised the lake

last report on tuesday was that the lake was at 73% full, but be careful of debris along the banks, they are flushing the canyon below blue mesa so fishing is out of the question in the black canyon of the gunnison for the moment

Nice fish, I am moving from St. Louis to Buena Vista in 8 days and can't wait to hit some of the water up there. I love reading this forum and will try to contribute to this new section once I do some exploring. I will probably be hitting Twin lakes and Taylor park when not fishing the Arkansas. Maybe we can meet up sometime and do some fishing or hunting. My buddy lives in Gunnison so I will be down that way every now and then.

River levels are starting to go down and clear up, lake reports from blue mesa have been good with nice lake trout being caught and rainbows as well, silver jack is still brown and not fishing that well

nice brookies have been caught out of rowdy lake in the last week, and moose are in the area,I seen a nice young bull and cow moose just passed rowdy lakes entrance on monday,

Owl creek pass is open and if staying the night in the area expect warm days with 30's at night last night was 35 F at 7100ft

little cimarron road has had a slide about 2miles from the end so the best fishing holes up that way are blocked and open to foot traffic only untill the road is repaired

gunnision river is fishing well , some very nice trophy sized fish being caught and released below the dam in the black canyon national park area, recently all four flood gates were open on morrow point dam and river levels are still very high and unstable and are changing rapidly making fishing difficult

since high water has been a issue now for about a month fishing has been light so expect a jump in reports in the weeks to come
