LostMyWife Posted January 2, 2007 Posted January 2, 2007 Hey Guys Robbie and I had a great time today. Robbie talked about it all the way home. I agree with the thread. Thanks all around, when can we do this again and what a great group of guys. What started out as a small thing grew into a great one. Nice idea Leonard. Did you think it would be this great? Thanks to Dave for the lesson and the info about the river. I agree with Dano. Hats off to Phil for giving us a great forum as a way to talk, share and now meet. BTW Russ, that 10 second fuse was the best fly I ever tried. Worked every single time! LMW & WBF Yes, I'm That Guy
Don Posted January 2, 2007 Posted January 2, 2007 Okay, Caugh it up guys. What the heck is a ten second fuse ? Don Don May I caught you a delicious bass.
Members Old Stumbler Posted January 2, 2007 Members Posted January 2, 2007 Pam and I had a nice time visiting the forum members today. We would like to thank everyone responsible for setting up this event. The food was great and the weather cooperated enough that it was a comfortable day to fish. Hope we can do this more often. Great day. The fish were cordial enough to provide us with some additional fun this afternoon. Happy New Year to ALL. I hate those "toe stumblin" rocks!!!

damselfly Posted January 2, 2007 Posted January 2, 2007 I too had a great time! It was good to put names & faces together. Maybe next time Terry's knee will be healed and he can fish too. Leonard, I want to put in a 'standing order' for next year (or the next time we get together) for more 'seahorses'!! If ya'll missed 'em you missed some good eats!! Thank you too Phil for the tarps, they made the pavillion a lot warmer.
back2roots Posted January 2, 2007 Posted January 2, 2007 Hi Everyone, I just want to echo what everyone else is saying. It was a great day meeting new people (JJ...thanks for the gnat and tips), EXCELLENT food...especially the shrimp skewers and the best day of fly fishing I have had. I agree too that we could do it again next year...and anytime before as far as that goes! Blessings to all! Bill If you liked the sound....Thank the engineer!
Members drbewley Posted January 2, 2007 Members Posted January 2, 2007 Ditto to what everyone else has said. I hope it happens again.
Terry Beeson Posted January 2, 2007 Posted January 2, 2007 Other than the fact that I was "drooling" to get on the water and feel some tugging on the end of my line, I had a great time. I was pretty tired when I got home, but it was worth it. Good to put faces with names and good to get to know some neighbors. Good to meet all of you. Just hope next time I can join you on the water! The food was great! I'm posting another thread just for the recipes for the dishes. John - Tell Tami that's what you get when you let a bunch of guys cook... no veggies! Phil - thanks for the tarps. I almost froze to death before you nailed that first one up! That wind was "WICK-ED!!!" Yep - an annual event would be good. But also how about a get-together in the "warmer" months. Maybe a fly tying, fly fishing, casting clinic, pot luck, lie tellin', fishin' weekend. TIGHT LINES, YA'LL "There he stands, draped in more equipment than a telephone lineman, trying to outwit an organism with a brain no bigger than a breadcrumb, and getting licked in the process." - Paul O’Neil
