Members jbooth Posted June 11, 2014 Members Posted June 11, 2014 Good question. I have been wondering that myself. My son and are are going out tonight and see if we can catch a few fish. Hoping all this rain has cooled the lake down just a bit from wher it was a few weeks ago.
Members Ohai Posted June 12, 2014 Members Posted June 12, 2014 Good luck guys. I have been fishing it hard. I was catching channel cats every time but since the rain it seems like they all just quit. I've even been adventurous and walked the north west section of the lake until I was standing right next to the do not enter buoys absolutely nothing. Can't even find a bite
Kee sims Posted June 12, 2014 Author Posted June 12, 2014 Well got out last night from about 6- dark only had a few bites but they were all pretty good fish! Ended up being a good night!
Members jbooth Posted June 12, 2014 Members Posted June 12, 2014 We gotto the main lake right about sun down, pretty sure we passed each other kee. Water temp was down about 20 degrees from where it was 2 weeks ago. Fishing for crappie caught a nice bluegill right off the bat, thought we were in for a good night, and boy was I wrong, that bluegill was the last bite either of us had.
Kee sims Posted June 12, 2014 Author Posted June 12, 2014 Yea water definately seemed colder than the last couple weeks. Didn't have a temp gauge but just going off feel. And if you ever see me out there again swing by and say hi. It's always fun meeting people off the forum! Were you in the boat with a light hanging on the side right at dark? Sweet smelling cigar of some kind ? Haha
Members jbooth Posted June 12, 2014 Members Posted June 12, 2014 Yeah that was us but just cigs no cigar. The new fish finder I mounted this year has temp reading, two weeks ago in the main lake it was showing 84 degrees, last night was 64 degrees. Not a big surprise with such shallow water how quickly and drasticly it changes

Members jbooth Posted June 12, 2014 Members Posted June 12, 2014 Sorry about the double post. What did you catch your fish on kee?
Kee sims Posted June 12, 2014 Author Posted June 12, 2014 I was just throwing around a still finesse jig. And a chatterbait around the weeds and stuff. Right before we paddled past you guys there's was another kid out that borrowed a scale from me and he had caught a nice one on a squarebill. It smelled like a sweet cigar from where I was haha. I even mentioned it to my buddy I thought it smelled good. Hopefully it warm back up a little bit and they will get more active!
