Members dembones Posted June 20, 2014 Members Posted June 20, 2014 Anyone seen any whites surfacing? Thinking about trying to find some this weekend but not even sure which lake to go to let alone what area. looking for a little help so I can save on some fuel.
MOPanfisher Posted June 20, 2014 Posted June 20, 2014 The white bass population of Pomme is still in the re-building mode after a couple of die-offs. However there are several smaller whites around. IF it was me and Iwas going fishing for whites, I would go to Truman, seems they always have good jumbers of whites and hybrids mixed in with them. Have occasionally had a school come up while crappie fishing early in morning and had a blast for a while catching them. Honestly I like eating them too, grill them with lots of cajun seasoning and flake the meat apart and make fish tacos.
rainbow Posted June 20, 2014 Posted June 20, 2014 They are pulling a lot of water at Truman so the whites and hybrids are active.
Members pomm muskie Posted June 21, 2014 Members Posted June 21, 2014 have been catching white bass in the wheatland area trolling.... last weekend they had been surfacing.... 9 to 11 inch fish.. limit both times good luck
MOPanfisher Posted June 23, 2014 Posted June 23, 2014 Pomme Muskie, that is AWESOME, I am glad to hear that the whites are bouncing back that quickly. The ones I was caatching this spring were maybe 6-8 inches long. Be good to have a good population of them again.
