Trevor K Posted June 22, 2014 Posted June 22, 2014 Does anybody have any recommendations as to how to go about installing black lights on a boat for night fishing?
Kelroy Posted June 22, 2014 Posted June 22, 2014 The few setups ive seen were all suction cup mounted, and powered through a lighter socket. Don't forget a safety line. As a co-angler I usually just wear a UV led light on my hat, and use Stren 'clear blue fluorescent' mono.
Members kevnt63 Posted June 22, 2014 Members Posted June 22, 2014 They have quality lights and alot of good info on their site. Gunnel mounts are pretty easy to install. Had an older Stan Sloan light that I intalled on my Tracker. drill a couple holes and run power from front panel where trolling motor is. sorry.....forgot the link http://www.tablerockblacklights.com/
Trevor K Posted June 23, 2014 Author Posted June 23, 2014 How large of an area do the ones that attach with suction cups light up?
Kelroy Posted June 23, 2014 Posted June 23, 2014 The biggest one I got to use had something like 30 LEDs in it, and it had no problem lighting up stuff out past 60 ft by about 30 ft wide. Looking at Bass Pro online, I don't even see anything like it anymore, looks like the new fad is UV LED stick-on rope lights.
REDSOXWSCHAMP Posted June 23, 2014 Posted June 23, 2014 they have an integrated rubrail light system now, kinda of a pain to install but they do look good
Pepe Posted June 24, 2014 Posted June 24, 2014 I hoped to do some night fishing last year But that never materialized. I did get a couple of Moonshine Brand lights that plug into a power outlet and have tested them at night. One on front and one on back and it really lit things up. Unfortunately, I haven't a clue what I'm doing in the dark.
skeeter Posted June 24, 2014 Posted June 24, 2014 they have an integrated rubrail light system now, kinda of a pain to install but they do look good Saw a boat with those rubrail lights glowing brightly plus a suction cup light on the gunwale. All that was missing was a Dixieland/Ragtime band and a Stage Show and you had a Showboat !
