Nathan-- this is a map of the "fish shelters" (brush piles ???) that Ark-fish & game maintain on Beaver....

if you can open the map and enlarge it you can see there is 8-10 piles in the arm at the 4 corner's area...

Well ill be. Thanks zarra. I wonder why so much in just that one spot? Guy I work with said he seen the biggest crappie he had ever seen come out of that spot.

Are these AGFC placed ones?

I was just interested to see that they have what seems like a lot of them in just a few area's on that map. Of course, we all know how online info can sometimes be misleading and such, so I'm only going to put so much stock into the data I see there.

I will take a ride up there once I am back on the water. I have fished that arm off Indian Creek before, but never hard enough to notice any fish attractors. I do know there is a lot of standing timber where those fish symbols are on that map.

I did end up fishing 3 mornings (6/29,30 and 7/1) with my brother in law. My daughters boyfriend came with us one morning and my sister came with us the last morning. Spent most of the first 2 days trolling the area marked on the map above. Only caught a few <12" smallmouth. Picked up 2 or 3 of these by the shallow water by the dam campground area.

The third day, we went around the corner from the trolling area marked above to the channel by the big island. Fished the cove with the tiny island at its entrance. We found what looked like a lot of fish in that cove on my cheap locator and did end up hooking a few white bass. As luck would have it, my sister caught the biggest fish of the trip which was about a pound and half white bass.

Well, something is always better than nothing I guess. .

Wish I had been able to come out that week. That's the general area I fish so I am sure we would have seen each other. But at that point I was litteraly between two boats of which neither worked.

If it's a yearly thing give a shout next time. I'll be able to help you out a little more.
