Bassmaster21 Posted July 1, 2014 Author Share Posted July 1, 2014 Hit the water again today out of mutton creek. Caught a few good bass on a zoom super hog. Also caught a pretty nice catfish on a curly tail worm. Got ran off pretty quick because of the wind. Seems like im finding fish in 10-15 fow very close to deep water. Easier said than done since I currently have no functioning depth finder As for walleyes I troll a three way swivel with a crank and a tiny spoon. Catch a decent amount of walleye on main lake flats and the occasional crappie. Oh and did I mention tons of white bass on it. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Hunter75 Posted July 1, 2014 Share Posted July 1, 2014 Walleye have been biting really good for me lately, I start at daylight and work a slow death deathrig in 8-10 feet of water, if it stays cloudy we never have to go deeper, if the sun satrts shining we slowly work out to 15-18 feet. They still seem to be on the poiints but have been catching a few moving to the flats. Trolled a few flicker shads sunday and caught lots of shorts with a couple of keepers. The bigger ones seem to like the slow death rig best, have only caught 3 shorts on the rig in 8 trips this year. Brought my limit home every trip. Catching a lot of nice bass on the slow death rig as well, only problem right now is the drum, i probably catch 5 drum to every one walleye. The spoon is so small that as long as the crankbait leader is shorter than the spoon leader then the spoon with just flutter slightly above and behind the crank. I prefer hot n tots for trolling but ive used all kinds of cranks. It is pretty deadly for white bass and walleye. Catch a few crappie and kentuckys on it also. I learned it from my old man. We used to troll fellows with it and when I watched him pull in a huge musky on it I was sold. Ive taken a few trips up north and the pike absolutely love it. Big Keene Posted July 8, 2014 Share Posted July 8, 2014 we've been trolling a similar rig for years on The Rock. three way swivel with a bomber on the short line and a nungesser spoon on the long line. its a killer rig, its has caught fish on every lake that i have trolled it on.
