Members jbooth Posted July 3, 2014 Members Posted July 3, 2014 Has anyone been catching any good sized bluegills in the Campbell point, big creek area? Heading down this weekend with the kids and would love to find some good size gills for them to catch.
Members Crappie Fisherman Posted July 3, 2014 Members Posted July 3, 2014 Haven't tried over there this year but they should be in full swing this weekend. We've been catching some spawners the past couple weeks in gravel pockets off the main lake and bigger coves, most in 10-12 feet of water. Small groups though, may only catch 5 in a spot then have to move. Should keep getting better the warmer it gets.
Jeremy Rasnick Posted July 7, 2014 Posted July 7, 2014 Crappiefisherman. I have had those exact same results this season. I hope business picks up. I've been hitting the Dam area
Bill Babler Posted July 8, 2014 Posted July 8, 2014 I have been catching some wonderful hand size gills as have most of the guides. Most are on the long rocky points if timber is present it is a plus, but really not needed. Most of these gills are in the 20 to 35 ft. range on the bottom and are quite easy to see on your electronics. They almost look like a shad school. Crickets and half size crawlers will get them for you. Not catching either walleye, bass or catfish with them as we usually do, just big solid gills.
