7/3 Night Fishing- Monte Ne

Before turning the lake over to the drunken masses my buddy and I fished from 9:30 to 12:30 Thursday night. Not much to report- lost one fish on a chug bug- think it was a smallish striper. Other than that nothing- literally didn't get bet. We fished docks and flats with jigs and black spinner baits and some top water gear. Never really left Monte Ne area due to time....Talked to some guys at the ramp who said they didn't have any luck either and they have heard the night bite in that part of the lake has been really slow.

DEAD SLOW TODAY.... Doc and I fished from 5am till 10:30 and managed a whopping 7 fish total. There was tons of bait and plenty of fish in the zone but they were not biting. I think the weekend traffic has really put them off.

By tomorrow, they will be hungry and the water lice crowd should have blistering hangovers or blistering skin or both. I'm going out early.

The mudline I saw develop on HI yesterday screamed "walleyes" at me. There were a few boats on the water...

Negative on the hunger part, the amount of bait that has moved in since Wednesday is insane they got plenty of groceries so its time to find a new spot out of walking distance of the free buffet.... Blistering hangovers no doubt.... Blistered skin absolutely...
