8-5-14 Lake Brittany

Fished B this morning from 0545 until around 1000.

Terrible.

Started out throwing a Punker and Balsa Bull, couple little swipes from rats, nothing of any size.

Threw a Rico for a bit and caught a couple 15" LM.

After the sun came up switched to Bass Assassin, weightless Senko, and an 1/8" shaky head with a finesse worm.

Caught another 4-5 fish but nothing over 2.5lbs.

Nice morning on the water, but the bite just wasn't happening.......

numbers= drop shot from 10-20' deep

quality= biffle bug from 10-20' deep

That lake is so steep, that I dont fish anything less than 10 feet deep.

Thanks for the tips, today was my first time on Brittany.

Was hoping to catch a piggie up shallow @ first light, but there was no surface activity whatsoever.

Anybody know of any BV lakes with a decent topwater bite early and late?

I haven't been out in a while on the BV lakes, so things may have changed, but there was, at least a couple of weeks ago, quite a bit of top water activity on Loch Lomond. Early in the AM.

Usually you'll see a 1/2 dozen boats in the main lake down by the dam, sitting out mid-lake, if that's what you see then the TW bite is still on. The fish are spooky because of the pressure, they won't bite standard stuff like buzz baits, wake baits, etc. You'll have to try small spoons, Kastmaster, crappie jigs, small flukes to see what they want.

zara spook jr, small pop r, torpedo or a fluke are my go to baits at Loch Lomond

you can swim a grub thru those open water schools & do well

If you want a big bass, you need to fish at night.

Were entering a full moon phase & they get shallow (relatively) at night

The fishing in Lomond seems to be improving. I'm hoping for a good jerk bait bite when it gets cold.
