Guest Posted August 15, 2014 Posted August 15, 2014 Where do you live? Im sure we can point you to better fishing lakes than Beaver, unless its stripers that you want.
Atta Posted August 15, 2014 Author Posted August 15, 2014 I love in springfield mo. I fish table rock, stockton, pom de, lake of the Ozarks, and even been to norfork a couple times. Just wanted to get out and try a little striper fishing. I have all the maps I need along with a good chip to find the spots. I also downloaded a map from the internet and put the points into navionics on my phone so I could have them. I'm gonna give it a shot tomorrow. What's a good place to calm at down there?
J-Doc Posted August 15, 2014 Posted August 15, 2014 I bet all campsites are full this time of year. Might call and ask. North side of the lake is best for camping. Prairie Creek might not be full. Need marine repair? Send our own forum friend "fishinwrench" a message. He will treat you like family!!! I owe fishinwrench a lot of thanks. He has been a great mechanic with lots of patience!
nathanhooper Posted August 15, 2014 Posted August 15, 2014 If your coming from up that way try Indian Creek or Dam Site. I camped at Lost Bridge South last weekend and it was full Thursday, but for some reason emptied out Friday night. But Doc is right that they may be full because its the last weekend before school starts around these parts. Indian Creek is mainly first come first served is why I suggest it. You might call before you drive to one or the other to ask how many they have available.
Atta Posted August 15, 2014 Author Posted August 15, 2014 Beaver lake hide a way has a few open. I think it is by rocky branch if I can remember. Prolly gonna go there and study asp tonight. If any of y'all are out I'll be in a white and silver 22' triton bass boat. Stop on by. I'll be the one looking confused and fishing for 20 pounders on bass hear lol.
Feathers and Fins Posted August 16, 2014 Posted August 16, 2014 If its Rocky Branch use the back ramp to launch not the front ramp.... Leave the ramp proceed North till you clear the cove, Make a Right turn go to Point 5 and turn around and start fishing up towards point 6, when you get to point 6 turn around and repeat... that is the zone for stripers. https://www.facebook.com/pages/Beaver-Lake-Arkansas-Fishing-Report/745541178798856
Atta Posted August 16, 2014 Author Posted August 16, 2014 Ended up getting a spot on the water at lost bridge south. Gonna get out in about a hour and head south for the sun rise then work back up this way for the afternoon. Thank you guys for the info. Will update when I get in from the morning trip b
Atta Posted August 16, 2014 Author Posted August 16, 2014 I'm out this morning and haven't seen anything blow up. I'm guess the clouds are hurting (based on tx conditions). What depths have u guys been catchin em in? My cell is 214-609-2657 feel free to give me a call with any advice. I know I am asking a lot and I'm sorry for that. Was trying to be prepared for it but I don't think I am lol.
nathanhooper Posted August 17, 2014 Posted August 17, 2014 Wish I would have seen this earlier. I think I saw your boat today. Hope you can find some tomorrow. Fins is correct. There are a lot of whites out there too. The fish are holding right around the 30' mark. But that can be in as little as 30' and out to 60' FOW. That's the hardest part for me. Unlike some...ahem...I don't have side scan and can't see fish off to either side. That is one tool I find myself wishing I had more and more. I did not see any top water even early in the morning. But saw a lot of fish deep and caught the one fish I did 30' deep at 5:30 in the morning.
