Well I have a new HDS 10 and I can't spot a small group of stripers 200ft away on side scan if it makes you feel any better. It's more for structure and bottom comp than fish. If it's a big ball of fish, I can see it but it has to be massive.

Im not saying anything but I know a guy that knows a guy that's friends with a guy that knows a guy who has bait for this morning and ATTA knows where that guy is going to be :) Im not saying he will catch fish but he his track record is pretty good lol. PS sidescan is a great tool if you understand tree's go up and down fish go side to side but 300 is getting out there in its usefulness but under 200 ya its useful.

Today was much better. Yes I had bait and was a little more prepared. Thanks to j-doc and you. All great info to help me out. Also met Vern out there yesterday and today. He is a nice guy and fun to talk to.

Didn't catch any striper at the spot but did catch 2 gat lol. Left there at nine and went south for whites. Trolling a 3xd in gizzard shad color was the ticket. 8 big white in about 25 minutes. Another boat out there with 3 guys trolling a rigs and the cranks caught more.

Was a great weekend and got to meet some fellow fishermen which is really nice. Thank you guys for all the help and pointers and information. Couldn't have done it without y'all.

I'll be visiting beaver more that's for sure! Very nice lake!!

Thanks guys. Wish there was a striper my report but maybe next time!!!

I wish you would have got one as well but it was great meeting you and your wife. I shouldn't have messed with that one and at least netted it to show you whats possible, my bad lol. Let us know next time your coming down and we can try it again. Glad you got in to the whites at least.

Good to hear you got on fish. These guys are the best when it comes to fishing help and have always been ready to help. Maybe next summer we should just have one big striper day where we all meet up to show the guides how it's done. Lol

lol. yeah these guys are awesome to help me out. next time ill be more prepared. my wife caught a white while trolling and looked at me and said, "im hung up". i laughed and said that we are moving 3.2 mph. either that line would have broke or the rod would snap, its a fish! she reeled it in and ending up with the bigest of the trip. around 17". in texas that would be what we call a "mag sandie". here its a normal white lol.

You are going to have to get her up during the run it gets pretty exciting and a ton of fun catching big whites and crappie with a spoon. Winter time is also a great time to catch them, stripers and the sleeper is Crappie! Beaver is a year round fishery and unless the roads are iced over there is no reason to not be fishing.
