Isn't guiding for hire a little like commercial fishing in that they fish for hire? I know they do not use nets and catch hundreds of pounds, but does it harm the fishery, or are there too few of them for that?

Were they still boiling on top this morning?

Nope. Only a few topwater strikes. No boils.

No worries. I believe it was formal enough. I really appreciate you giving me a shout because it helps to know the kinds of places that the stripers like to hang out. That place reminds me a lot of two other places I've caught stripers before. So it makes things click inside my head.

Glad to help out. I'm still learning myself. Was sure glad to get Samuel on fish though. Poor fella deserved it. He had a great day.

He looked like it! I know he is a sales guy and they are pretty high strung anyways, lol, but he had one of those looks that are exactly what I like to see on peoples faces when fishing/hunting. Just something about it.

It would be interesting to do a study on that. I doubt they do, and I'd like to think AGFC keeps up with it all. They are the ones who stock anyways. It's not a native fish, so it seems reasonable that they watch it closer.

It is a commercial business John and yes a good guide should be on the fish if they only guide one certain body of water. But they do not have the capacity to harm a resource in the limited numbers of fishing guides we have and short of striper guides most guide trips are catch and release. AGFC does keep an eye on the amount of guides and the resource.
