Wayne SW/MO Posted September 13, 2014 Posted September 13, 2014 Ok. About how deep is the lake in the area? Any colors jigs work better than others? And where the best place for great breakfast? Thanks in advance About 10'. With the stable water temperatures that's plenty. Bull creek nearby is a good place by boat, as is the area where the lake turns to follow 160. By car the Empire fishing dock and the area around it can be good. It often depends on the gubmit. when RB gets a good stocking it can be good for awhie, but that isn't written in stone. As far as breakfast goes, the old Longhorn in Forsyth reopend and it's the place for breakfast I think. It has a good dinner menu also There are a couple new places Two Fat Daddy's BBQ is good and Charlie's, an upscale, by Forsyth standards, place with a reasonable broad menu is good. Of course there is also Sonic and McDonalds. Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.
Members sdsr1907 Posted September 13, 2014 Author Members Posted September 13, 2014 Thanks Wayne. Iyo which bait has better results? Power dough, power eggs/worms, kastmaster lures or small cranks? I've never fly fished before and don't think that will be a good option for us out there.
Wayne SW/MO Posted September 13, 2014 Posted September 13, 2014 We always do best on two colors of Power Bait. By two colors I mean two at a time on the same hook. I generally don't fish spring, that's when the whites run, but I assume it would still be valid. A simple rig with a sliding sinker, swivel, 6" leader and a hook. They will generally swallow the bait so I just cut the leader and re rig the hook. Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.
