Members Duke 59 Posted September 14, 2014 Members Posted September 14, 2014 My wife and I are considering moving to beaver lake and building on the lake. I have found a potential lot and was wondering what everyone thought of it's location for year round fishing. I have read many of the reports and documents F&F has posted that describes the migration of species throughout the year. I know the stripers will travel all the way from the dam to down below in the river sections...but if I didn't what to only chase stripers could I find other species year round close to the lot? This lot is located about 1.25 miles south of the 12 bridge. What would my fishing prospects be throughout the year if I didn't travel more than say 5 miles in either direction? Thanks for everyone's help. I love the sharing on this site, and if we do move to the lake I hope to be able to share what I find. Thanks, greg
Feathers and Fins Posted September 14, 2014 Posted September 14, 2014 1.25 miles south of 12 bridge is Beaver shores. I have a friend who lives there and I launch there many days for travels up river and to the dam, I actually like the ramp there more than PC or 12 Bridge as a rule. I can be at pt 12 in roughly 15 to 20 minutes and Rocky Branch point 4 area in about the same so it puts you in a great position for year round fishing. Do a keyword search for ( Beaver Shorers and or 12 bridge ) for what you will catch and its pretty much everything. Hunting depending on what you are looking for its a short drive to the WMA by boat or car, And what's real nice your still close enough to town for convenience but far enough out to have that country feeling and the big secret of Rogers is the downtown restaurants and never forget JJ's https://www.facebook.com/pages/Beaver-Lake-Arkansas-Fishing-Report/745541178798856
Blll Posted September 15, 2014 Posted September 15, 2014 My wife and I moved here in January from northern Illinois.. We are near the Hwy 12 ramp. While it took this yankee awhile to stop looking for weedbeds and lily pads,, I've caught fish every month we've been here and I'm looking forward to my 1st fall experience when it may be the best yet. I was really happy to find out about the excellent walleye fishing. Everything F&F said about the location is true. 15 minutes to town but a country feel. No regrets except those d#%*m ticks!
Feathers and Fins Posted September 15, 2014 Posted September 15, 2014 Ticks are easy to take care of, Spray your yard regular and if your walking in the woods spray your clothes with Nix before going out https://www.facebook.com/pages/Beaver-Lake-Arkansas-Fishing-Report/745541178798856
