Quillback Posted September 26, 2014 Posted September 26, 2014 Had Jeb with me today, we fished from the Kings upriver to past owl creek, mainly stopping and fishing bluff banks, chunk rock banks and points. Had to deal once again with flat calm and sunny skies. The bite was a little better than I expected, nothing great, but we put 30 bass into the boat. Biggest was a 17" mean, or smallie, couldn't exactly tell what it was. A couple of LM's but mostly 12-15" spots. A few drop shot fish and a couple on spoons, but most were on FB jigs in some variation of green pumpkin dragged slowly down steep banks. Monarch butterfly migration must be on, saw a few flying across the lake. Lots of motorcycles on the roads. Water temp - 76-77.
jeb Posted September 26, 2014 Posted September 26, 2014 Yep, that was a nice "whatever mouth" you caught, Jeff. Nice day of fishing. Not what we saw last Friday, but we all know that kind of bite doesn't last very long. John B 08 Skeeter SL210, 225F Yamaha
